Working together to develop an innovative and competitive healthcare ecosystem, by focusing on digital and healthcare innovation trends, and strengthening the research and internationalisation of the production sector. This is the aim of the collaboration agreement signed by Federated Innovation @MIND and Bioindustry Park Silvano Fumero, reference points for companies in Lombardy and Piedmont operating in the public and private health and Life Sciences sectors.
A collaboration aimed at integrating the knowledge, networks and physical and digital platforms that belong to the two poles and aimed at the development of broader projects to accelerate the creation of a virtual district in Life Science between MIND and the Bioindustry Park geographical areas.
The activity will be carried out by setting up thematic working groups that will focus on improving patient care and the effectiveness of treatments: from the study of value-based models for personal health to optimised care pathways integrated with new technologies such as telemedicine, AI applications and regenerative medicine, to the networking of biological and nanobiological data in the form of biobanks.
The specific ability of the two poles to enhance public-private collaboration will be crucial to strengthening an open innovation model that is strategic for the health supply chain: facilitating dialogue between institutions, pharmaceutical companies, start-ups, and research centres will enable progress in the creation of a public-private network focused on innovation in precision medicine, especially in the area of personalised diagnostics, and patient accessibility to new treatments.
The objective of a virtual district for Life Sciences will also be pursued from an industrial point of view by integrating the fields of logistics, production and R&D in the health and Life Sciences sector in a collaborative model that brings together large companies, SMEs, start-ups and universities.
From this point of view, the presence of large groups such as Bracco and Novartis at the two poles has been a driving force and facilitator of the agreement. It will be fundamental to the development of joint projects, together with support for start-ups in the sector, which today represent an important factor for innovation, links with the academic sphere and the development of integrated logistics, a fundamental dimension on which to innovate and invest in the near future to promote the attractiveness of the area.
